Dr. Carroll obtained his undergraduate degree from Temple University, where he received a full academic scholarship as well as scholarships from the Philadelphia Daily News and the Anna Vincent Society. He stayed at Temple University for Medical School. Dr. Carroll completed his internship and residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where he was Chief Resident. He performed his fellowship at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, where he rotated through the Walter Reed Medical Center and the Washington Hospital Center.
Following his training, Dr. Carroll accepted a position as Director of Musculoskeletal Radiology at Suburban Hospital where he provided radiologic expertise for numerous professional athletes, including baseball players for the Washington Nationals. Just prior to joining Progressive Radiology, Dr. Carroll spent eleven years honing his MRI skills at Radsource, where he provided primary MRI interpretations for professional athletes, including football players for the Tennessee Titans, as well as Grammy award winners, politicians, and people of all ages and walks of life.
Dr. Carroll is an expert in musculoskeletal radiology with a passion for sports imaging, who excels in orthopedic oncology and rheumatology. He is highly respected as an educator, having contributed numerous articles, exhibits, and presentations to the field of musculoskeletal imaging. Dr. Carroll is a member of the American College of Radiology, the D.C. Chapter of the ACR, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American Roentgen Ray Society.
Dr. Carroll lives in Potomac, MD with his wife Samantha, four daughters, and two dogs.
