JOB TITLE

 

Job Title:                     Scheduling Coordinator - Olney and Germantown

Reports to:                  Front Desk Supervisor/Site Manager

FLSA Status:                Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

Accomplishes scheduling of patients, processes patient through appointment, check-in, check-out and registration.  Arranges patient payments and verifies patient and insurance information in accordance with Progressive policies.  The Scheduling Coordinator is under the general supervision of the Front Desk Supervisor or Site Manager.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Schedule patients and makes appointments (based on protocols); enters data into                           automated system (MedAnywhere).
  2. Accurately accounts for patient payments (WC, auto, personal injury, or patient payments.
  3. Verifies patient insurance information; explains in and out-of-network insurance, co-pay, deductibles, promissory notes; payment plans, and insurance referrals.
  4. Confirms key patient data with patients; reminds patients of appointments.
  5. Verifies health insurance information.  Prepares and prints patient documents.
  6. Greets patients upon arrival; assists them in completing Progressive Patient                                     Information forms; obtains copies of insurance cards I.D., or other supporting                                documents needed to process patient's charges.
  7. Accomplishes check-out procedures; receives, secures, and accounts for petty cash upon shift change twice daily.
  8. Collects patient co-pays and deductibles, ensures promissory notes are signed,                               accounts for all funds via appropriate journal entries, and ensures bank deposits are made according to Progressive policies and procedures.
  9. Accomplishes general office procedures as needed (opening/closing; beginning of month reports on inventory/postage; end of month reports on charges and cancellations; incident reports, etc.).
  10. Maintains confidentiality of all patient records.
  11. Responds accurately and comprehensively to multiple inquiries from patients, referring providers, and Progressive headquarters.
  12. Functions as a team player in accomplishing all responsibilities and working with other Progress site staff members.
  13. Performs all essential duties and responsibilities within the trained principles of customer service while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  14. Participates in any employment related training as directed by management.
  15. Adheres to professional appearance at all times.
  16. Demonstrates proper ergonomics while lifting, standing, and sitting.  Also requests assistance as needed for performance of job duties.
  17. Attends and participates in scheduled meetings as directed by management.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each "Essential Duty" satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed.

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required.  Two years of comparable work experience as medical receptionist or secretary required (can be compensated for by formal training or associate degree in relevant area).  Experience in accounting, health benefits processing, finance, or similar areas also acceptable.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret Progressive policy and procedure manuals, memoranda, and general correspondence required.  Ability to effectively discuss patient insurance information and respond to questions from supervisors, patients, referring providers, or Progressive headquarters is essential.  Ability to fluently speak the English language and be fully understood by all Progressive stakeholders.

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages required.

 REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.

 CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.  Must be able to see computer screens.  Lifting and carrying of office supplies and equipment is occasionally required.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The employee will ordinarily be working in an office environment.  Minimal environmental stresses and noise levels would be encountered.

PRN X-Ray and Mammography  – Progressive Radiology (Bel Air, MD)

We're looking for experienced and professional candidates who are able to independently perform all outpatient Xray  and mammography exams in our Bel Air location.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality radiography and/or Mammography examinations on patients.
  • Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
  • Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
  • Must be able to interpret a physician's instructions, produce quality images of designated areas of the body.
  • Ability to assist patients onto table.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patient procedures.
  • Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

ARRT(R) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and/or ARRT (M)

MD State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology,

CPR certified.
